I came to know Brooke and her sweet family through a blog I follow. If you haven't checked out Becky Higgin's blog ( http://www.beckyhiggins.com/blog/ ) you are missing out! It's eye candy for photographers and scrapperbookers! This girl has some serious skills!!
Back in May, I noticed she was hosting a Big Photography Giveaway and was dying to participate. I loved the concept of giving away a session to a deserving family. The idea was to submit some of my pictures and have people comment under my post with why they deserved to be chosen. I got an overwhelming number of posts. Of course it was super hard to pick, but between my husband and I...we knew that Brooke and her family were the ones!
I asked Brooke to write up a little about her family, because only her words will do her family justice. I truly enjoyed meeting this family and am so excited to be able to help them. The struggles that they have been through made me come home and love on my husband just a little more. Brooke, you are truly an inspiration!
From Brooke:
We were thrilled to have had Sarah take pictures of our family. We have two daughters (ages 5 and 3) and one son born in January. This past year has been very challenging for our family because my pregnancy with our son was very high risk and I was hospitalized for an extended period of time. Despite our best efforts and care, we lost one of the twins I was carrying and delivered our son 15 weeks early at 1 lb 13 oz and 13 inches long. He spent 4 difficult months in the NICU and has been home for 3 months now. We are so amazed at his progress – he is truly a miracle. We are so happy to have photographs that capture our family relationships after overcoming these challenges together.
